The Malaysian Invsetment Development Authority (MIDA) is pleased to extend a warm welcome and 'Selamat Datang" to all exhibitors and trade visitors to Asia Medical 2011, the Asia International Medical Supplies, Equipment and Technology exhibition and conference scheduled in Kuala Lumpur from October 5 - 7, 2011

Thanks to Malaysia's strategic location and conducive investment and regulatory framework, the country is fast becoming an attractive centre for the medical devices industry, and currently holds the position as the world's leading producer and exporter of medical gloves and catheters.

The availability of supporting industries ranging from sterilization services, sterile medical packaging to contract moulding and assembly and machinery fabrication also positions Malaysia as an ideal location for the manufacture of medical devices, with the potential to be developed into a medical device hub in Asia.

Given the growing demand for medical products, the medical devices sector in Malaysia is one of the priority sectors identified for promotion and futher development which includes expanding its value chain by moving from basic processes and conventional assembly to product and process research and development, design and prototyping, distribution and logistics.

We look forward to providing assistance to participants of Asia Medical 2011 who are interested in investing in Malaysia, and wish all participants every success at Asia Medical 2011.
